This evening, you will be guided through the thickets of portrait rights and data protection in art and pop culture, the public character of online spaces, and AI laws (or lack thereof) by legal connoisseurs Anna de Wandeler and Jens Van Lathem. They will be joined by artist Loïs Soleil, whose archival documentation of Tinder profiles plunged her headfirst into the horrors of navigating the law, which often feels obscure and distant, and its fraught relationship with artistic expression. In other words, they will provide guidelines on how not to get sued as an artist – in a technological landscape shifting so quickly that it leaves many gasping for air.
