Aline presents her fascinating exploration into the history of public urinals—from the 1400s to today—through the lens of gender hierarchies and public space.
Titled “Fontaine, je ne boirai pas de ton eau – A brief introduction to the elasticity of the bladder wall in public space,” this 45-minute conference is much more than a lecture. Drawing from over 100 illustrations, photos, sound extracts, and film clips, Aline delves into the historical and cultural dynamics of public urinals, particularly the iconic Parisian vespasiennes.
