A conversation between Ariane Sutthavong—curator of the current exhibition—and Nadia Guerroui—participating artist—whose practices intersect around questions of perception and what lies beyond visibility, engaging with regimes of clarity and attention. Together, they reflect on their respective methodologies that engage with subtraction, indirection, the ephemeral and the textual.

Ariane Sutthavong works across curatorial, editorial and discursive formats, moving through collective processes and the uneasy intersection of art and politics. Her practice often emerges from sites of friction—between languages, temporalities or social imaginaries—and seeks to hold space for forms of knowledge that don’t readily translate.

Nadia Guerroui creates new spaces, conditions and registers for (re-)encountering and attuning ourselves to the (in-)visible environment which surrounds us—the imperceptible, the shifting, the evanescent. Her practice invites rigorous, attentive engagement, deliberately resisting the spectacular and the immediate consumption of images and sensations.
