Kurt Ryslavy, Austrian conceptual artist and wine merchant, believes that the world of wine has much in common with that of contemporary art: people often grant immense value to the label and sometimes forget to taste. Taking advantage of the exhibition (Not) All Is Gold, Cloud Seven invites you to a wine tasting led by Kurt Ryslavy himself. Guided by the artist, you discover ten Austrian wines and, by extension, reflect on art. The tasting is preceded by a talk with Philippe Van Cauteren (SMAK) and Nele Tas (artist) about Kurt Ryslavy’s artistic practice, rich in humour and stimulating questions, especially regarding art and its relationship to value.

Kurt Ryslavy (b. 1961, Graz; living in Brussels since 1987), featured in the exhibition (Not) All Is Gold, is a conceptual artist who has lived in Brussels for over thirty years. His practice playfully and sensitively challenges the conventions of the contemporary art world. He is the first to import and popularize Austrian wine in Belgium. Today, his bottles sit on the tables of renowned chefs, and his artworks belong to major collections.
